Constitution

Article 7  -  The Publications Committee  
1. The Association shall have a Publications Committee, the members of which shall be appointed by the Association at a General Meeting.

There shall be at least four members in the Publications Committee.

Members of the Publications Committee shall serve for a period of three years.

The Publications Committee shall appoint from among its members:
(a) A Chairperson who shall be an Ordinary Member of the Association;
(b) An Editor of the Proceedings of the Irish Biblical Association;
(c) A Treasurer.

. Should the Publications Committee deem an extra specialist member necessary for the efficiency of its task, it may co-opt such a person until the next regular General Meeting of the Association.

. Should one of its regular members cease for whatever reason to be a member, the Publications Committee may co-opt a person to take his or her place until the next General Meeting of the Association.

. (a) The Publications Committee may raise and administer funds for its own projects.        
(b) Any funds remaining after the completion of such projects shall be put to the use determined by a General Meeting of the Association, having before it a report and recommendation of the Publications Committee.

. The Publications Committee shall make an annual report to the General Meeting of its financial position and its publication projects.

. (a) From among members of the Association the Publications Committee shall appoint a Director of the Special Publications Trust who shall administer this Trust in accordance with the guidelines established for the management of the Trust and assess and propose to the Association further developments in research and publication in conformity with the aims of the Trust, and in keeping with the current financial situation of the Special Publications Fund.
 (b) Should the Director deem one or two specialists useful for assistance in the task, he may chose them and propose their names for acceptance to the IBA Publications Committee.

10.
The responsibilities of the Publications Committee shall include:
(a) The regular publication of the Proceedings of the Irish Biblical Association;
(b) The administration of the Special Publications Trust through the Director of the Trust and his assistants;
(c) The nomination of members for the Special Publications Editorial Boards for appointment for fixed periods by the Annual General Meeting;
(d) The review, as it sees fit, of the membership of the Special Publications Editorial Boards and of the directorship of the Special Publications Trust.
